· Got creative and made a small audio apm to make my bot hearable using leftover parts. It uses the LM386 and uses very few external parts. Note on the data sheet the RC cap and resistor on the output not needed. I am using to speakers from junk mainframes tp provide omni-directional sound. Only one is really needed. I sugest you use a bigger proto board. I was just using leftovers from other projects. I hope someone will find this usefull.

Very nice job. The LM386 chip as an amp is one of the most useful accessories to have. I generally put in a gain switch to quickly increase or decrease the amount of amplification. It also works well with speech synthesizers. Some people have used this to build low cost hearing aids. Here's some source for additional circuits and information.

The NXP TDA7052 is a much better chip - lower power, less noisy and uses fewer parts.
