My Afternoon at Google- includes video

I recently gave a “tech talk” at Google about the Propeller and some of the projects I’m using it for: ViewPort, DanceBot, and the PropScope. Here’s a video of the talk:

My friend Charles invited me to give the talk because he thought the stuff I was working on was relevant to Google engineers- besides a search engine, Googlers are involved in pretty much anything these days- monitoring power usage, renewable energy, and even satellites. Charles took my dad and I to the famous Google lunch where I enjoyed fresh sushi, sashimi, and indulged in some desserts. Outside Googlers were practicing their golf swings and playing Frisbee. Charles gave us a tour of his building with themed floors, cool demos, and fun conference rooms. I set up for my talk in front of 3 huge screens- surrounded by lights, microphones, and cameras. Everything is automated at Google- even the zoom-in/out effect in the video- when I stepped away from the podium, the camera zoomed out. 30 minute before the talk everything was working perfectly, my DanceBot was balancing and streaming processed video to ViewPort, collateral was set up on the table, and everything was ready to go. I even left my robot to balance by itself to write a “Hanno was here” message on an open whiteboard. Lots of people came by to chat to me- drawn by the rhythmically balancing robot.
However, as soon as Charles started introducing me, my robot tipped over- but there was no going back. In the first couple seconds of the video you’ll see me mentally rearranging my speech and demos. The presentation ended up going well- even some good questions about the Propeller. I don’t think anybody noticed that the talk went differently than I had planned. I figured out what had happened to my dancebot when my laptop shut down at the end of the presentation- I must have turned the power strip off while arranging things under the podium. This meant both my robot and laptop were running solely off of batteries…
All in all a very fun afternoon!

New to the Propeller?
Visit the: The Propeller Pages @ Warranty Void.
Much better quality than the Robotics Club video, but both videos contain a huge amount of information. Well done! Learned a lot.
What's next? Share a keynote with Jobs? :)
Bought Viewport a month ago. A must have companion to the Prop.
I wish you, (and Parallax) the best success with these products. Who could be better partners?

Thanks for all the comments. The video has been seen by close to 1000 people now!
PropScope is getting very close- I was at Parallax in mid April and mid May and David's team has made excellent progress on solving the last outstanding problems. I don't know details of a pre-sale- maybe call Parallax Sales? To my knowledge, we're planning to sell 1 model of the PropScope- it includes 2 switchable 10x/1x bnc probes, the PropScope, software, and an expansion card.
