Joystick -> PC computer -> PSC Real Basic code examples?

I want to control a Parallax Serial Servo Controller with a joystick. This will be my first robotics code project so I'm thinking of giving Real Basic a try. Does anyone have any example code that (hopefully) does this in RB? Thanks!
