Are there any plans to port the Basic Stamp IDE over to Linux (Ubuntu)?

May I request this port be considered? Its getting annoying and discouraging when I have to keep rebooting my system into WinXP so I can use the kit. Please consider a Linux Ubuntu port.

Have you looked here www.parallax.com/tabid/441/Default.aspx under Software for Linux?

The existing Basic Stamp IDE is written specifically for Windows and would be a major effort to convert to be multi-platform. The "tokenizer" which is the guts of the compiler is available for Linux and there are several free 3rd party IDEs that are available for Linux.

I haven't personally tried the Linux IDE, but others have and they seem to be satisfied. I have a Mac and use a 3rd party free IDE (MacBS2) for all my Stamp work other than a rare BS1 program which isn't handled by the tokenizer.
