RS232 to UDP

Hi all
So i have a project for work.
I need to pick off some data from a serial line and send it out via UDP over ethernet.
So obviously i could use a full blown computer, except i need to carry it around in the desert with 15 lbs of other weight for many hours.
So, i have several other aspects of this project which i will be doing with either a SX Proto Board or Propeller Proto Board.
So, i am wondering if there is a board level unit kinda like the HYDRA Ether X card that i could use.
I don't know if this is important but i only need a static IP and will only be transmitting ~13-14bytes at 1-5HZ.
Thoughts???
This looks very interesting.

Anyone had any experience with units like this??
