Is it possible to make an SX tool for programming?· I knnow the Propeller can be connected via a simple serial circuit...· (see attached pdf)· Does the same apply with the SX?· Also, I have a prop plug...· Am I able to just use that as a programming tool?· smurf.gif

Thanks.

It isn't that simple to make a programmer for the SX chips. The programming is a bit more involved than just connecting a serial circuit. See the thread here:

Luckily you can get the SX-Blitz for only $30 and it works well for programming all the SX chips.

    Vaati,

I'm with Robert - just get a Blitz if you want to keep costs down. The SX-Key provides a charge pump, debugging circuitry and variable clock, communication firmware, etc. And, it just happens to be one of our most complex programming tools ever! I've seen entire teams of Parallax engineers spend weeks on this tool, making small changes to firmware and hardware. Even when it was originally developed back in 1997 Chip spent many months in a revision cycle. I wouldn't wish a reverse-engineer of this tool on anybody.

It's much more than a USB to serial converter.

No...But I do play Halo on Xbox360 and Xbox live every now and then. look for "WMcKILLemALL"

I've been into PC communications for years, and I find it fascinating.
I have studied the SX-KEY for a while, and it is a work of Art. I know of no other device that comes close to it's functions or capabilities.
