IR Remote & Stepper Motor Program

I have tried to combine the IR remote program and the stepper motor program for a high school project, but I can not seem to make it work. I need the program to use the 1, 2 and 3 key on the IR remote and when each button is pressed the stepper motor must perform the corressponding sequence. Can someone help. Thank you.
