Temperature processing system - help

I am working on a projects (for school) that connects a parallax board with Altera UP2 board.
The javelin stamp reads temp from a DS1620 then displays the temp onthe altera board.
the problem is that when the temperature goes about a predetermined threshold I have to sound and alert.
I am using·the freqout command but·the speaker (piezo speaker) won't sound.
If I try it on a·stand alone javelin stamp·the speaker sounds just fine.
·I am not very good at this but I have everything working, I have to turn in my project and my speaker does not work please help.·
