Propeller + wireless chip

Hello- I am interested in adding wireless capabilities to the Propeller chip for a research project. I have been looking into using the Matchport b/g chip, and it seems like people have had some success doing this. However, I have never worked with wireless chips before and was wondering if anyone could offer me some guidance or places to look for documentation that would be able to help. Additionally, I would also like help understanding how the Propeller chip interfaces with a module like the Matchport or Wiport.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Sparkfun and Digi both have wireless modules that would be suitable, depending on your range needs. Most wireless chips support a simple serial interface: the data that you serout on one side appears at the other end of the link, no questions asked. Some of the more advanced modules support networking with destination addresses and encryption and all that. Mostly, though, any wireless solution that you find will probably work with the Propeller.

I think that your terminology is likely to confuse people. A Matchport

    and an Wiport

are used to connect a device wirelessly to a network. When you simply say "wireless", people are likely to think instead about devices used to talk to each other, like the Digi XBee that I suspect SRLM was thinking about.

Are you asking about how to connect wirelessly to a network?
