knockoff ping sensor?

Has anyone used this ultrasonic sensor from ebay? It looks very similiar to the PING sensor, but for less than half the price.

It's not a PING. It's a motion sensor, not a distance sensor (read the description!). If you want to detect motion between 3mm and 3m, I suppose you could use it, but the description doesn't tell you how much motion is needed or in what direction in order to trigger it.

I have a similar device. It is a simple TTL hi low signal. As Mr. Green said it can be used as a swithch but not a measurement device. I tried it with a a LED and a scope. No analog to mess with. I may have a use for it in the future. It will detect obsticles.
