BOE board Rev D

I have been using the BOEs for just time. I just got a new USB BOE board that is Rev D.
There are two small diodes that light up when you plug in the USB cable. These diode are not on Rev C boards. What are these Diodes for?

The blue and red LEDs? They should be transmit (blue) and receive(red) indicators for when data is passing on the USB line.
