· I ran out of funds and would like to use a sharp IR transciever to replace the ultrasonic ping in a roving program.·I have the A/D chip and a program for the crustcrawler (on the shelf for the moment). I rather start with a tank format before I go to 4 legs. I am a newbe and·no programming wiz by any means. Getting ready to fire up my first boe. It has been updatted to a BS2P. Heard the older boe programs used an IR scanner program and searched through 100 pages of archives with no results. Does anyone have anything laying around? Thanks.

The IR that's being referred to is probably an IRLED and receiver combo, not the Sharp version.

·· Enclosed data sheet. I bench testted it already. Works good. Using the long range version.

I don't know of any written code for this but it does not look too hard. Do you have any specific questions?

I am very green at programming. Sort of self teaching mode now and this is my first robotic project. Looking for a way to sub the infrared signal to the ping. I saw one on utube for a crustcrawler like mine. It was a Crawler setup on a lynxmotion style body with all parallax electronics. I got it used with a burned out ping. I am just starting with the boe for now and worry about the crawler later. I have the imfo on the infrared with no pan in the crawler program. I do no how to cut and paste. lol
