I/O Expander Question

I plan on hooking up some logic IC's to the BS2SX to save I/O's. Maxim IC has many versions of I/O expanders and I'm not sure which ones are compatible with the stamp.·Would anyone in the community share their expierences using I/O expanders and possibly reccomend one to me that would work well?

With the BS2sx, you want to avoid the I2C expanders since it doesn't have the built-in I2C statements. The easiest would be to use the 74HC595 for output and the 74HC165 for input. There are plenty of examples in the StampWorks Manual which you can download from Parallax's Stamps in Class Downloads page.
