deal was attractive to me.

I have been looking for the 1GB microSD with SD adapter included. Last one I bought for AUS $7 = approx US$5, but alas no more to be found. 2GB microSD are currently AUS $10.50. 1GB seem obsolete in the cheaper shops.

It's good to establish a "market" .... I have a limited source for both 1G and 2G SD and microSD types. If I can manage my risk, I could buy a store of these products. I've been waiting for May and some conversation in this area before acting. So, what is a fair price for these products that are going away?

The stores tell me 2GB will remain as their is too many camera's etc that cannot format FAT32. I am only interested in microSD since I can use the SD and USB adapters to read them in my PC and only use microSD sockets on my pcbs.

Well, here in Germany you can buy 2 GB cards for less than $10.00 in many shops or order them for that. Okay, doesn't pay for your airline ticket... But I suspect that you can mail order cards even cheaper in the US.

About a week ago I was in Office Depot and they had buckets of store-branded 2 gig SD cards for $8 each.

Cluso, that's interesting about the stores promising continuance on 2 gig SD. That's good news for us, while I think FAT32 is do-able it's not necessary for anything we're likely to be doing and it's a nuisance. I guess I was a little worried because they haven't worried much about orphaning stuff before, but I guess there really is a lot of legacy SD stuff that can't do SDHC.
