Question for storing data

I would like to store data entered via a keypad. Is is fairly simple to add a memory chip to store data ? If so what would be the name of this chip. Please bear with me I am still awaiting parts to begin basic stamp experiments.

You can have EEPROM's that connect to the Basic Stamp via the I2C interface, there is some here on the Parallax website;

Or you can have some RAM also via the I2C interface. These are from another company;

Can you add a subject to your thread?· This will help others in the future.

If you kept power to the RAM then no.
Also with the USB thumb drive you have alot of storage space, which then requires the software to interface the Stamp to it and store the information. Do you really need that amount of storage space.
The Stamp 2pe module has extra EEPROM space but since you have already purchased a Basic Stamp then it might not be an option for you.
