Copied from my reply to the same thread in the BASIC Stamp Forum:

"Unfortunately they got some of the details incorrect about the BASIC Stamp 2, such as using an SX and the voltage regulator being an interpreter. But it was nice to watch anyway, and a worthwhile project. =)"

Sorry Chris. I had not seen your posting on the Basic stamp forum. There were quite a few slips, including the speeds. They were right about the great support from Parallax though....

Oh no doubt...it's great coverage...I guess I am just a stickler for details and don't like to see people mis-informed. But yeah, great coverage.

I agree... As much as I like Systm, I didn't like hearing SX uC's being called microprocessors. And maybe I misinterpreted what he said, but I thought I heard Dave say the BASIC Stamp was ideal for large production runs whereas PIC's were only good for small hobbyist's projects!

Hey! that's Patrick Norton, I remember him from that show "The Screensavers" on the now defunct TechTV network. Thanks for pointing this out, I really used to enjoy that show, and this show seems to be in the same style.

A little research goes a long way toward to credibility. =)

Indeed... that's the one problem I find with technology-oriented internet television shows: they rely on their hosts, and to a lesser degree their production staff, to supply all technical knowledge. MythBusters, on the other hand, has staff devoted solely to research. I'm sure TechTV (I used to be a big fan) had a similar arrangement.

Yeah, I noticed a few similar slips on Make Magazines weekend project videos. Bre is a project devotee...but when it comes to Parallax products he could use some fine tuning. =)

Yeah, I think I noticed a few slip-ups as well; it's been such a long time since they've done projects with microcontrollers. Regardless, Weekend Projects has got to be my favorite of the tech-oriented podcasts. Even though he doesn't host them anymore, I just recently got a chance to meet Bre Pettis, and Mitch Altman too, in person... they're really nice guys.
