Line Follow Question

1.I would like my Boe Bot to follow a line and at first intersection turn left, go 10 inch straight, turn back to the intersection and continue woth the line following. Then at the second intersection do the same thing but turning right. how should my program look like ?

2.How could I use my Compass in navigation? help me with an example code please.
