Datalogger #27937 jumper pins

Hello fellow propeller enthusiasts!

I am facing a problem trying to interface the propeller to the Datalogger #27937. I have tried the many suggestions in the other thread in the forum.

http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&m=341913&g=342011#m342011

This new thread however, is to find out whether or not the additional pins labeled "R G P" have any purpose. I am getting a "disk full" error when I Try to write to a USB key. So I was wondering if these pins have to be altered to take it out of some write protect mode.

There isn't anything in the documentation to suggest this but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Hi, I haven't used the Parallax datalogger but have done a lot with the Vinculum chip behind it. My guess is that P R and G you mention are #Prog #Reset and Ground and are intended for re-flashing a bricked firmware. I would not connect these together at any point if I were you.

My advice would be to check the USB key is okay, do the firmware upgrade if you haven't already (look at the FTDI website for instructions) and make sure you read all the data it has before you try writing.

That last one got me stumped for ages. The Vinculum simply won't accept data if you haven't read all the data from it first. Also bear in mind that it takes a considerable time to boot up (several seconds if the drive is very large and the firmware isn't the latest), you need to allow for this and make sure you have a disk prompt before writing.

    Hope that helps.
