A while ago, I purchased a set of 5 LCD Displays from American Science and Surplus· Some of the pins were bent and I fixed 'em, but I need some info on these LCDs. I tried looking up info from the manufacturer, which was Planar Systems and Standish. I need some info or datasheets for:
Standish 9310428436542001
Planar 0038-4206-363-440-01
Planar 0102-3970-363-420-01

· ... But that's not the full truth. Anyhoo, here are some pictures:
These are called Field-Effect Displays…they are LCD, but they required a driver IC to run them generally. Each element of the display is broken down into row/column matrices and needs to be energized to display that segment. This would require too many I/O pins from a typical microcontroller. You can either use an expander and try to drive them directly, or you can find a driver IC. I know Jameco used to carry one for driving Field-Effect LCD displays. Take care.

I can't find a driver...
Is there another name for these types?

This link should (hopefully) get you the ICs that drive these displays...
