ST7565 displaytech issues

I have a driver that has been working on the b2z-rn displays from newhaven display. That display uses the ST7565 chip also. I am in the process of bring a displaytech chip to life, that has the same driver chip.
The Seacomp/displaytech site uses 1uf caps for the voltage booster. That is also what I use on the small display from newhaven. I am messed up somewhere here but can't place a finger on it.
Here is my code.
The displaytech is the S64128M.
It has the "blankscreenofnewlcd" look.

Old lead free no clean paste at work here.
I think I am ready to go back to using hazardous materials to do my soldering. There is nothing like the beauty and reliability of a lead solder joint.
