stepper motor and the devolpment board

Can some-one help me?
I'm making a stepper motor project and would like to know how I can increase the stepper motor·power to 24 volts by copying the basic·wiring of the program and wiring from the StampWorks manual? I know I need to tie the·center pins of the L2930 to a grounded heat sink. other than that how do·I wire it for higher voltage?

    A transistor will be needed to counteract the voltage change. The Stamp output pin to the transistor base through a resistor.
