Google Tech Talk about ViewPort, DanceBot and PropScope

I've been invited by Google to give a tech talk about the things I'm working on: DanceBot, PropScope and ViewPort. Here are the details:
Location: Google, Building 42.
Time: Tuesday May 12th at 2pm
Title: "How a Kiwi built an interactive vision guided robot"
Details:
I built a balancing robot that uses vision to dance with people using the Parallax Propeller multi-core processor. My talk will cover the robot and the tool I wrote to build and debug sophisticated embedded systems. ViewPort now supports computer vision using OpenCV, fuzzy logic, physics simulation, and monitoring telemetry with simulated instruments. I use Google Checkout, Analytics, CustomSearch, and Adsense to sell my software on my website: http://mydancebot.com

My sources tell me Hanno will also be speaking *tonight* at 7:30 at the Homebrew Robotics Club at
Moffett Field in Mountain View, California.

This is open to the public.

Tom's sources are correct! I'll give a whole lot of demos tonight:
-DanceBot balancing and guided by vision
-Tune DanceBot with ViewPort: measure tilt, position, IO, NTSC, Tune fuzzy logic
    -Debug Propeller Spin Code
-Find Objects with OpenCV: face, color, circle
-Simulated DanceBot: control a robot in a simulated world with spin code
    -PropScope

Here's the description for the HBRC talk:
Building Sophisticated Robots with ViewPort and the Parallax Propeller
    by Hanno Sander

The Parallax Propeller's multicore architecture let's you develop sophisticated robots by combining existing code. Combined with ViewPort (a full featured debugging environment) you'll be building sophisticated projects in no time! ViewPort comes with an integated spin code debugger, OpenCV vision engine, fuzzy logic engine, high speed logic analyzer and oscilloscope, and the ability to monitor and change variables in a running program. This talk will focus on the vision processing capabilities of the DanceBot- featured in the March issue of Circuit Cellar. See more here: http://mydancebot.com/

If that's not enough to get excited about, come for your chance to get one of the Parallax donated USB Protoboards!

Thanks everyone at the Homebrew club- I had a great time! We had more than 60 people in attendance- with maybe a dozen Propeller users. Great to meet some of my ViewPort customers! The talk was taped- see here:

I'll be giving a demo and talk about ViewPort and DanceBot at Willow Garage today at 11am. Willow Garage supports development of the OpenCV library that ViewPort uses to find objects like faces, colored blobs and circles in video coming from the Propeller Frame Grabber, Web Cam or file.
