Eeprom failure help

I have a bs2 revA DIY Board. And everything thing seem to be good . communication with editor is fine but when I try and run something it says eeprom failure. It says tokenize good download failed???? Now I know it says to use a 24LC16 but I didn't have any of those laying around so I used a 64 and a 256 later on. I know it will only use the 16 out of the eeprom but can I use these or or is this whats causing me the problem??·

    The 24LC16 is very different from the 24LC64 and 24LC256 (look at the functional descriptions in the datasheets). You cannot substitute either of the latter two for the former. As you've discovered, it doesn't work.

    Mr. Green off hand do you know what other eeproms I can use. Cause I have a bunch of different 1's laying around and Im trying not to have to buy anymore. Thanks in Advance

    As far as I know, you can only use the 24LC16 and its equivalents. This includes the 24AA16 which has an extended supply voltage range (operates with as low as 1.7V).
