BS2 Rev. B Homework Board Not Working... --RESOLVED

I decided to make a simple multi-LED flasher circuit this morning with my BS2 that I have had for almost 2 years.· As I haven't had any issues before, I didn't think twice about whether it would work or not.· After building the circuit, I plugged it in to the computer using the exact same serial cable I used when I first got it, wrote the program, and selected·run.· It successfully compiled, but the·"No Basic Stamps Found" box appeared.· shocked.gif

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, or am I just having really bad luck today?

Thanks.

Lots of people experience this problem. Usually it's caused by lack of power (dead batteries or faulty power source) or a problem with the serial or USB cable/adapter. You may have made a mistake in your wiring and caused a short circuit that prevents the supply voltage from rising to 5V. The steps to deal with this usually are:

    1) Check your power supply voltage / source

    2) Check your serial connection. Has your computer's I/O driver(s) changed? Is this a USB adapter that's worked with Stamps before?

It often helps sort things out if you remove or disconnect any circuitry you've added so you're dealing only with the Stamp itself and any board it's mounted on.

"Bad luck" is often due to making assumptions, rushing to try something out, forgetting other related things.

    FALSE ALARM:

It works.· The problem was that the other end of the serial cable wasn't hooked up to the computer at all...· eyes.gif

That makes me wonder if my Propeller circuit wasn't messed up at all...· I will check that now.

    Thanks.
