Propeller Expo T's

(Please Forgive me for these being quasi-off-topic)

I'm getting a quote from a local t-shirt shop for some T-shirts
for the expos. I've got permission to reproduce the Propeller logo.
So I'm thinking I'll take some pre-orders (paypal) for some shirts
if enough people are interested. (You would get them at the Expos)

Here's what I've got in mind.

Black T-shirt with the Propeller logo.
Words: "I partied with Chip Gracey" "Propeller Expo 2009"

I expect costs to be around $10-$15 a shirt, but I'm waiting for the quote.

How many would be interested?

Update: Step 2, Edit or Post Quantity and Size desired.

(This is technically a Propeller related thread, but apologies for those
who are not involved in the Expos. - Thanks! -) If admins prefer
we could move this to the Sandbox.

    The Expo logo is pretty cool ... unless it's an 8.5 x 11 iron-on.

Personally, I'm a minimalist when it comes to clothing. I think the ideal would have the following:

    Front:
    -Propeller logo
    -"Unofficial Propeller Expo 2009"

    Back:
    -Text: none
-One or two of the following:
    --Propeller logo
--Burning man propeller (A cleaned up version of the one on the other thread would be perfect!)
--The physical propeller chip, probably one of the SMD versions

Good catch on the T shirts though.

I'll second what SLRM said. I prefer grey, tan, oatmeal... earth tone colors. However, I'm sure that I'll be buying a shirt, whatever the design.

We'll have to settle on a single design. :) But I like the earth tones idea.

I'm waiting for two quotes from the local shop. Since they just opened,
we can get a 1/2 discount on the screen printing setup.

There are two ways of doing the shirts. The first is more inexpensive and
is a heavy-grade computer generated iron-on. This isn't screen printed,
    but looks decent.

The second way. (The way I want) would be a three color screen print.
We'll need a few more who want this before it can be ordered to
    off-set the setup costs.

I'll let you know what the quotes look like when I get them.

OBC, for the extra quantities needed to meet the setup costs, please add Parallax. We could have them at the UPEW as prizes and our staff might like to have a few.

Please do your best to choose a good-quality shirt (thin T-shirts wear out too quickly).

IMHO, Definitely go with good quality shirts. I'm willing to pay $5-10 more just to have a nicer shirt, since they look better for longer. I hate it when I get a shirt that I like and it's gone in a couple of months. I'll third the earth tones. Just don't go with the "Red Earth" or "real dirt" style that's popular in New Mexico. Those have some sort of powder in them that if you wear them before you wash them a couple times the powder wears off all over you.

    [Edit]
Per OBC's request for details, I'll take two at large.

hhmmm... something that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is sizes...

I'd like a shirt of course, and I'm an XL, and I'd probably buy one for my Son and Daughter that will be accompanying me, and they are much smaller.

Any plans to offer kid sizes? or at least an adult small.

edit - make my order 1 xl shirt

I doubt I'll be offering kid sizes.

We'll probably stay in the adult,xl,xl+ and here's why.

I'm planning to have them screen printed as this is the nicest looking
shirt. If I convert the Propeller logo to 4 colors (instead of five, which
is the small section of green that is the propeller shaft) there is an
initial screen printing cost of $25 per color. (my calculation is $100)
plus the cost of the shirts. Unless there is an objection to changing
the shaft color from green to blue.

Screen printing the shirts, will keep the printing itself at one size.

If I can get pre-paid orders for 50 shirts, we can get the price down
to around $15-16 a shirt. (These are very nice shirts, as per Ken's request.)

I appear to have around 20+ people who have committed to a shirt,
A the moment, this sets the price around $20+ a shirt.

    Thoughts?

What's the chances of having one shipped down under? I can't get there to collect in person this year unfortunately...

Maybe send it to Parallax and I can have them chuck it in the next box I order ;)

I can probably do PayPal or something if it helps..

I'm in for four shirts. Can do PayPal prepayment if that helps. Adult size. I wanted to come out and claim T-Shirts in person, but will be racing hovercraft the week before and all vacaton time and money will be burnt up.

Are you including "L" in the sizes? XL is way too big for me. (Even if you don't, I will remain committed to buying a shirt.) I can pay via PayPal (or mail a check) as soon as you settle on a price.

I'm glad you're getting the heavy-weight shirt per Ken's request.

Edit: my order is for one large shirt

Ok, it looks like we've got enough interest to move forward.

These will be prepaid, Paypal and will be picked up at the expos.

Next step. I need everyone to edit their post and state a quantity and size.

Step three will establish a method of payment, and I'll place the order.

I'm not personally such a big fan of the Prop logo (sacrilege I'm sure), but I look forward to buying a shirt or two anyway.

Just hope the Prop logo is not going to be 12" across!
