hallo,
i have a Propeller Professional Development Board aka PPDB
i would control 5 heavy servos with this board.
in the Dokumentations to PPDB -> ServoPorts:
Questions: i have labor-power-supply with
an output of 5 volt current 2Ah
can i do this?
Thanks for the answers.

in the Dokumentations to PPDB -> ServoPorts:
Servo Headers: when using multiple or loaded servos you should use an external power-supply which you can connect to the terminal block left of the voltage jumper. the voltage coming into this terminal block should be in the range of 4.8 to 7.2VDC at sufficent current to power the number of servos connected

it depends on the "heaviness" of the servos
if you want to drive all 5 servos at the same time
each servo should have not more load than 2A / 5 = 0,4A = 400mA
The servos have a specification-label or maybe you can download a datasheet from the manufacturer.
What is important to make it work properly is to connect the ground of the PPDB with the ground of the powersupply (common ground)
without a common ground it will NOT work properly

@ SRLM,
i mean laboratory == on german labor
yes i know this with this ratings.
thanks
hi Leon, verry correct
hi stefan,
thanks for your help
i have this combinations of extern power-supplys
testing with a propeller ProtoBoard with 12 BigServos
and 2 6Volt 12Anpere == its running
with a BS2-Boe-Board i have testing this configurations
with 2 small and 3 bigServos on her ServoHeader its
ok
at last friday i am testing the PPDB with a smallServo
and the intern power-source.
if this power supply to small i can:
12volt, 3.7A convert to 5volt -> to the board
but i think the 2Ampere supply is ok.
the datasheets:
operating voltage: 4.8Volt to 6.0Volt
newton-cm: at 4.8 = 198Ncm, 6.0 = 247Ncm
its heavy.
thanks for your tipps and hints
