Detecting cellphones radiation

Hello,

I am seeking ideas on how to achieve cellphones dectection at a range of 10 to 20 feet. I allready experimented with this circuit (http://www.techlib.com/electronics/cellhelp.htm) and a magnetometer circuit (based on Speake FGM sensors http://www.speakesensors.com/products.htm), both are working fine, detecting cellphones quite easily but a maximum range of 3 feet.

I want to detect the global "phoning" activity in an area and/or in a specific "line of sight".

Have you already tried in radio-related forums ? After all, what you want is a receptor with enough gain, correct tuning and so on to detect a transmitting phone (i.e. radio sender)
