Text to Speech 30006 problem

Been trying to get this text-to-speech module to work with my BASIC Stamp2.


Neither Emic_TTS.BS2 nor EasyEmic.bs2 works.· When I run the first program, the Debug window says "No reponse from Emic TTS".· So my BASIC Stamp2 is working and talking to the PC.· The "download status" always says "tokenize/download successful".· The green light on the BS2 comes on, and goes off momentarily, then comes back on.· The green light on the TTS module comes on, and used to turn red while the program was running.· ONE TIME it blinked red on and off, as if it were "speaking".· I didn't have the 8ohm speaker attached, so I immediately attached it.· It never ran since.

I have the two DIP switches set to OFF.· I've tried both BASIC Stamp Editors, v2.2 and v2.4.

I'm afraid I may have shorted something out.· Does anybody have any ideas?

It would aid us forum members in troubleshooting tremendously if you can provide the code and the schematic of the circuit in question. How is the module connected to the BS2? Maybe it's a bug in the code. We are more than happy to help you, but we're not psychics - we need to see a schematic and the code (at least enough to test the interface to the module).
