Interfacing to a MAX6958 via I2C. Help.

Hello all, i recently received a few max6958 7-segment controllers and was wondering how exactly to interface them to my BS2 or my BS2p24.
I know its I2C but i don't know how to exactly write/read data to/from the different addresses on the chip.
Any help appreciated, Thanks. Datasheet

    I think the bs2p series can use i2cin and i2cout.

    I know the p series has the i2c commands but i dont understand what commands from the datasheet i need to send and how to even send them with the i2c commands.
