trouble with ds1620

sorry for the basic question but im new to the stamp family.
It's pretty frustrating at this early stage when·a simple plan doesn't work.
My ds1620 seems to just read 0 celsius which is definately not correct.
Attached is the code i cut and paste.
also a picture of my setup.
any help would be appreciated.

I ran your code and it appears to run fine the way you have everything connected.
The code that you provided comes from the AppKit DS1620 Digital Thermometer (.pdf) from the DS1620 product page.
There is a little bit newer code that I tried that works the same way from StampWorks (.pdf) on the DS1620 product page also ... I had to swap the DQ and Reset, but everything does work.
Double check the numbers on the IC... when testing this I accidently grabbed a MEMORY IC, and it displayed 0C and 32F ... This is also displayed when the DQ and Reset are swapped.
