Hi to all
Can somebody tell me what the max and min volts that can be applied to the PIR sensor #555-28027
Would 6.6VDC be okay as the max volts ...?
Pls advise

There is a Voltage regulator on the PCB CYT119AKG ....also reverse polarity protection as well with a diode.
There is no SX chip on there ..some custom chip marked "BISS00001" and a smd part marked YDAWA2Y
The input caps on the supply ( + and -) are rated at 16VDC ..
Hopefully one of the Parallax techo's can answer this for us

Here's a datasheet for a PIR control IC: www.comedia.com.hk/fp2008/Spec_PDF/KC778B.PDF. I have no idea
whether Parallax uses this IC or something similar, but it does show what some sensors may allow.
Dave Andrae tech support Parallax applied 6.64 VDC to the PIR sensor and it worked fine.
I after nyself applied 7VDC to the sensor overnite for a period of about 12hrs..
All is well..
We dont recommend you do this but it works ...
Wish I could find info on the Voltage regulator as I suspect it can take 9VDC ..(see CYT part number mentioned above)
cheers
happy Easter to the all around the globe..
