Identification of ports problems

I am having a lot of trouble getting my Bs2 identified. It was working fine with my BOE and bluesmirf. I loaded sucessfully multiple versions of code and it complied. However, by some freak of nature, it doesn't work anymore. When I changed the current bs2 stamp with another one, it worked again. However, the problem came when I attached my smirf onto the breadboard. After attaching the smirf, even if I detach it again, the Stamp no longer gets recognized. I still have Loopbak and Echo, but no Device Type displayed. Trying this on different computers didn't help either.
I don't understand how my smirf could've messed things up. i attach p15 and p14 with the tx and rx pin of the smirf and Gnd to Vss, Vdd to Vcc. Anyone have any idea of how to fix this?
Thanks for any help!
