Quick and easy wireless sensors?

Often times I want to monitor a NC switch sensor wireless without much work. Is there a simple/cheap transmitter/receiver that takes a NC input and just reports it as a NC output?·

In particular, I'm trying to use the skylink garage door, proximity·and window sensors (www.skylinkhome.com).· Has anyone tried hacking the receiver to return NC outputs instead of just lighting the LED?·

You could always use IR for a very simple, cheap and quick wireless sensor.
Of course, it requires line-of-sight and there are other considerations as well.
