I don't see why not. The advantage of the Ping))) mounting kit with servo is that you can ping in a range of directions by rotating it with the servo.
I think the bracket is best for a set of multiple positions around the robot platform- like Ken Gracey did on the from of his PropBot shown here. He made these brackets himself.
The new Protector Stand Brackets look great though - don't they?

Now that you made me think about it, Whit, I'm wondering if the bracket will fit on a servo horn. And if it doesn't, I'm sure a little drilling wouldn't do any harm. With that said, why don't you get the PING servo bracket and the protector stand, Mike, and if it doesn't work you can still return it if it has been less than 7 days.
I don't know the dimensions of the Protector Stand Bracket, but the Ping))) Mounting bracket with servo is sort of "L" shaped and rounded on the lower leg of the "L." As it rotates from side to side, this allows a full sweep from left to right. It gets the Ping))) up above the BOE.
If the lower arms of the Protector Stand are too wide, this could interfer with the rotation. Also, the Protector Stand Bracket mounted to the servo horn might make the space between the back of the Ping))) and the from of the BOE and Chassis a bit tight (due to the height of the Protector Stand Bracket.
It could be very good looking if it works, but I would just check to be sure.
