Multi touch sensing with an led matrix

Im really interested in creating a similar system using regular 8x8 led matrices but i dont know where to start in relation to making the leds work as touch sensonrs.
I was playing around with some leds and i got them to work as photo diodes by applying a reverse voltage over them and using an adc to take the reading but i know that the leds·in the video uses a different method.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

It looks like it starts at the same video that you found and goes from there.

A valuable hint for finding things on the Parallax forums:·Use http://search.parallax.com·, not the forum search function. The link above was the first returned from a search for "LED as input device". Amazing, eh? Give it a try.
