What crystal/resonator should I use with SX48 Protoboard?

I was told in one of my other posts that I should run my program at 50mhz and I am wondering what I should buy or should I say, which is easier to work with. I was using 2 SX28's and it was more of a pain the farther I got into the program so I am switching to the SX48. On the protoboard, there is a place for a crystal to be placed but the only one I found was a 75Mhz on parallax's store. Would running at 50mhz and running at 75mhz be much of a difference? What is the difference between a crystal and a resonator? Is there a reliability difference? I want to eventually sell my product so I will have to build my own boards that have programming capabilities as well since the SX48 is a surface mount only chip and does not have a programming board like the SX28. The problem with that is I have heard you cannot program the SX with a crystal or resonator connected or you will burn out the SX Key. I have already ordered 2 SX48 protoboards, but I forgot to order crystals so now I need to make sure I purchase the right ones.
