Hi everyone there, i am Thavamaran currently working on TCS230DB for my project, so i have this little questions.

- Why TCS230DB need LED's?
- Why it must be White LED's?
-Does the surface or material of the color contained medium will effect TCS230DB during its readout time?

    Hello Thavamaran,

    The TCS230DB uses the clear LEDs for illuminating the object who's color you would like to detect. This blocks out any ambient light that may be interfering with the sensor obtaining its data. As for surface material, you'll have to do some tests. There's a great Nuts and Volts article that takes you through the process of calibrating the color sensor to suit your needs, and matching unknown colors.
