Does anyone know what happened to Needham's Electronics?· One day the site was just down, phones disconnected and e-mail bounced.· Does anyone have any contact information for the owners or whoever may be handling any existing warranties or services for them?

Thanks...I had found that through a Google search, however it does not have any of the software available.

What software did you need? I have a 31MB .MSI install file for the EMP-30 from 2007. (I believe it would work for the -20, -30, and -31)

    Also, check here: http://www.eod.gvsu.edu/egr326/DeviceProgrammer

Chip e-mailed me back yesterday…I guess the business was sold to someone else by the original owner right before it closed. The original owner is in Texas now and I called HSC yesterday to see if they may have any older packages around (since this was a slow selling item), but they did not. I did notice (perhaps incorrectly?) it seems that when Needham’s went under many of the other units went up in price. I really liked the Needham’s units and had scripts to auto-load my code from a cross-compiler into their software, burn the chip, etc. Chip suggested I build my own. In 1990 that is exactly what I did. But then when I needed a larger capacity chip my unit no longer worked. There are too many programming algorithms and voltages, as well as pin outs to go through all that for a one-off device. However I will maybe see if I can find a used unit reasonably online.

@Phil…I think that information is out of date. The phone number is disconnected and no business is registered at that address (it’s available to lease).

@WBA…Well, I was originally looking for Windows software for the EPM-20, but realize they never finished that, so perhaps the latest version of the DOS software for that programmer.

The search continues…perhaps I just need to buy something currently supported. I just hate to spend $500.00 on something that I will rarely use.

My test engineer (at work) has 4 EMP-20s but the only software is on PCs. He will dig one out and see if he can pull anything useful off.

I think for what I do I could use the following Universal Programmer...it's fairly cheap and supports most of what I have used. Just have to talk to boss into getting me one. ;)
