Let pool our resources and do something nice for our favorite company..

Click here and recommend that IIS Node 3 be called "Parallax".
We can't let a piece of technology get named after a comedian..

    I prefer:

    Huh. I voted for parallax, but Serenity has 86% out of about 27,000 votes... I think a snowball in hell would have a better chance. Unless if somebody here can crack the random letter image and make a bot?

    Ha! How do you think Serenity is winning?

    That's what the tally said after I voted... Anyway, I think it has to do with the current economic crisis and the people's wish for a quiet, stress free life. However, it's a terrible name for a part of the ISS since space is quite serene, and the module is intended to disrupt that 'serenity'... Parallax is a much better name, since it will constantly have changing views of the earth and the stars.

    Serenity? Isn't that a brand name for an adult diaper?
    Are they incontinent?
    Are they suffering form dementia?
    Do they have a fetish?
    I know they're astronauts, but to look around for a name for the new node, and come up with "Serenity" as an option is ridiculous. I can see it now " We need to name this, this thing, look around boys and make a list of names" One guy sees the pack of diapers and puts that down.
    Why not call it Depend, Poise, Tena, Attends, or Dry comfort?
    Yep, it will be a floating adult undergarment up there in space. shakehead.gif

    Unbelievable!

    Hey - it isn't fair that some names are listed and other aren't. That can mislead the votes!

    I voted Parallax too for the new ISS pieces name. It is interesting to see the margin that the current name is winning by.

    Timothy,

    I agree, posting the names like that creates an unfair bias toward the end result.

    The numbers don't seem to quite add up...

    For the TOP 4 names....

    Earthrise = 7
    Legacy = 8
    Serenity = 80
    Venture = 5

    ...All add-up to 100%, which does not even leave 1% for "other" names.

    Parallax is also a good name because it was the method used to measure the earths diameter (i think first)!

    We could suggest 'depends' to dilute the serenity vote.

    Perhaps not. "Colbert" won the voting ("Serenity"? Please.) But:
