Controlling frequency
I just got my basic stamp kit·from the UPS guy·and have been reading and trying to get up to speed on how this works.· While I’m learning about micro-controllers I wanted to ask a few questions about frequency and changing or controlling frequency.·
·
I have a have a conair touch and tone massager that has two speeds.· I want to be able to control the frequency of vibration.· I wanted 40 Hz, 60 Hz, 80Hz, and 100Hz.
I have heard about using a 555 chip, but don’t know how.· It is my understanding that I could generate square sine waves at whatever frequency I wanted.· I could then take that signal and amplify it and send it to the massagers? Would this do the trick?· If not, what would work?

The 555 timer is a great IC. This link will help you learn more about the IC:

The BSII can also produce square waves.
