What is the Best Game available for the Propeller?

and

B. I am asking this because I want to include some games for use with my public domain PropPhone... so I am mostly interested keyboard based games right now...

but I'm thinking of building a game controller into the phone. So, if you mention a game... please include the type of controller
the game uses.

Don't be shy... if you think your game is best, say so.

Thanks

Rich

I can't honestly say, as I have never played a "game" on a prop.

But I would say the best game is ........... programming it smile.gif

The "Snake" thing is about the most sensible game for a "normal" phone (played that twice!).

The "Software Index" in my .sig has every game that has been written for the Propeller.
Personally, I'd go with Frogger, but I don't think Jim released the source for it.
You'll have to work with the binary.

Take your pick. They all all pretty good!

Binaries are fine... I'm not planning to distribute anything except links and through the forum:)
I'm thinking about making a disk image (a zip file to be dragged onto the SD card.)

Either Maniac Miner or Dodgy Kong. Both are really good.

Baggers has ported quite a few games (Frogger being one of them). A while back ago, OBC had posted a thread/document that explains how to convert Hydra games to to proto/demo board configurations (it was around Christmas time as I remember). Since the source to those games has been released now (see the Hydra products page), you might want to give some of them a look as well. FX-Racer is well worth the effort.

Also, on the Hydra forum, there is a list of games on the PROJECTS Master List:

Jeff, Same here with that link.
and thanks for the Frogger plug :)

Rich, there are many fine games on the prop, it depends on your taste.
DodgyKong and Defender and BattleZowned are also great prop arcade clones
and not forgetting Space War and Mercury Mission and Planetary Defense, Spintris, and unterwelt.
I won't add mine to the list, as that would be biased :P lol.

I'm looking for something that would appeal to kids, who have never seen a video game before:)
Of your games, which do you like the best... which would appeal to a 10 year old?

Go with the classics! They were winners when I was that age.

And they've never been spoiled by 3d shooters (with horrible gameplay) like my kids.
