Power issues with the propeller control board

I'm not sure what is going on with my prop board, but it appears that there is a power issue.
When I try to hook it up to my computer via USB, I'll do a port scan in the Propeller Tool to try to detect that its connected, and get this error:
"No propeller chip found on any serial port"
I've tested this on a few computers, and its the same results.
No changes have been made to the way the power pack is installed to the board, and I'm sure that the wires from the power pack are fastened
tightly to the board.
I know that the board is getting at least some power because the on-board blue LED turns on when I power the board up.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
-Jimmy

I've made that mistake a time or two and have learned from it haha :)
Also, I'm using a Propeller Plug
However, it hasn't really been used a whole lot, and has been well taken care of.
Can you think of any ideas to test it out? Whenever I try to initiate communications from the computer its plugged into,
the a blue light will flash....but that is what has always happened.
1) I unplugged the prop plug from the propeller control board. I plugged the USB cable into my computer, and attached the other end to the prop plug. The computer recognised the
device and the lights on the plug flashed.
2) There is no physical damage that has been done to either the prop plug or the propeller control board.
3) There is a fresh battery pack hooked up to the propeller control board.
4) When I turn the propeller control board on (in either mod, servos on or servos off) the on board blue LED turns on.
5) The prop plug still fits snuggly onto the prop control board.
