Is it possible for the·BS2 to malfunction due to low voltage supply without triggering a brownout reset?

    It should not. The idea of the brownout detector is to hold the microcontroller in a reset state when the voltage is below the usable operating voltage of the main components such as the EEPROM and interpreter.

    That cannot happen on the original BS2 nor on the 2008 versions of the BS2e (rev E) or BS2sx (rev F) that have an external brownout detector. However there can be an issue on other SX based Stamps that use the SX internal brownout detector. See,
