About making the HYDRA into a radio

While I was reading in the book an idea hit me. Since you can generate AM/FM sgnals and connect an antenna, maybe it's possible to make a radio or a fm-transmitter of the HYDRA system. Would that be possible? It would be good to be able to send the video or audio wirelessly. roll.gif

While it's possible to configure the TV drivers to produce video on channels 2, 3, or 4, it's not very good video nor does it have more than a foot or two of range (at least for me). It works best if you replace the crystal with a 6MHz crystal (since the TV channels are at multiples of 6MHz). Similarly, it's possible to produce TV sound or a broadcast FM signal, but it's not useful quality.

Back when I programmed the 1802, a full 256 bytes made
it possible to cycle the frequency and make musical notes.
After converting the notes to Bach and several classical
segments, I discovered it acted as a short range transmitter
using an AM radio tuned to the low end band. The range is
only about a foot or two, but there are antennae and ways
to increase the signal. You can hear the music but not with
the original clarity of feeding to an amp circuit directly. It
should be possible to do the same with one of the stamps
    or Hydra.
