Debug Window Behavior

I'm seeing some strange behavior with the Debug window. When I run the attached program from the IDE (version 2.4.2), the program will start, the Debug window opens and the prompt appears. I hit space to start the data collection and the Debug window closes. I can briefly see that its being updated at the time it closes.
If I manually open the Debug window and press reset, the program will run correctly and I can see all the data results. The program runs as expected and the Debug window will stay open after the program ends.
Does anyone know what could be causing the Debug window to close when this program is first run from the IDE?

I think it requires you to click on the "Backspace" button.
