Help! Programming a Temperature sensor?

Hey! I'm trying to connect a HomeWork Board to a temperature sensor made by Vernier. How do you program the PIC Basic to read temperatures?

More info please. Generally you read the input from the sensor and then convert that value to another value that is readable as temperature. I know that's vague but so is your question.
