Pretty sure i fried my Ping sensor

Hello,
So I have been working with robotics for years now, but a few months ago i made the mistake of hooking my ping sensor into slightly too high of a voltage. I got a spark and a poof of smoke off of it and i think I fried it. it still brinks rapidly when the distance program is running, but i am just getting the same distance distance= 0324 since i believe this is the limit of the ping and it doesn't change even though i have checked the configuration several times i am assuming it's fried. Is this an accurate guess?
