i am a student from high school

currently i am doing a project on the ultra sonic sensor

i would like to know how it works and how the distance is calculated
and how the pulse if related to getting the distance calculated

Go to the Parallax webstore (at www.parallax.com) and search for the PING sensor. On the store webpage (like for most Parallax products) there are links to the documentation and sample programs. Read the documentation. If you still have questions, come ask.

If you have specific questions about something in the documentation that you don't understand, ask. Someone will either answer your question or suggest that you look at an article on the Internet for an explanation. The Wikipedia is often a good source for explanations. Try searching Google or Yahoo for the term you want along with the term Wiki.

You'll have to do your own writing. Anything else is plagerism (presenting someone else's work as your own) and, if you're ever caught, will at least earn you an F if not expulsion from school or some other serious penalty.
