WAMC usb trouble

Hello, I've recently got my WAMC and
parallax boe bot USB version from UPS.
Before working with robotics with the boebot,
I'm thinking of working with WAMC first.
But.....
when I got to activity 3 of WAMC(the part when you first test your BOE board
after downloading the free parallax editor from parallax.com),
it said that I needed a serial cable!!
Now, my BOE board is a USB· version, not a serial port version.
So, how do I work with the WAMC now?
I mean, I don't know what to do since the book said I required a
serial port, not a USB.

ps. also, I need to get a USB for my future robots(including parallax). Which USB
is the best for robots?

Connect the USB cable second.
Proceed as though you connected it with a serial cable.
