javelin resetting intermittently
I'm having trouble in a project where my javelin keeps resetting intermittently. I'm controlling a small motor through an h-bridge which I'm powering with a separate 4.5v power source than the javelin, which I'm powering with 9v (please see attached schematic). Both power sources are batteries. I've looked into some other posts on this forum and elsewhere and gathered that perhaps it's noise from the motor, so I've used some of the suggestions like the triple-capacitor combo on the motor contacts/body, as well as a capacitor across the javelin's Vin/Vss. Still no luck. In the schematic, in addition to the h-bridge, there's a series of 12 switches (for different motor behaviors) as well as an optical interruptor (S13). There's also a LED on one of the pins. I'm assuming I'm correct in joining the grounds of both power sources (I've tried it both ways: with and without). It's difficult to try to debug because the intermittence is so erratic; sometimes it works fine for a while and sometimes the javelin resets every few moments. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I once had a javelin that kept resetting on location until I added those caps.

Thanks so much for the quick response. If you could just please confirm: since you use "caps" in plural... are you saying that I should have one 0.1uF cap between ATN and ground... and then another between ATN and the DTR (for when I do hook up a cable for downloading)? In other words, when I don't have a cable hooked up for programming, that second cap will have one terminal connected to ATN but the other will not be connected to anything?
